Friday has finally arrived, and I couldn't be more relieved! We don't have any big weekend plans, but since we're still working through Bennett's sleep regression, I really hope to use this weekend to catch up on some sleep while Bennett and his dad have some quality boy time.
On account of my exhaustion, I needed this week's cocktail to be simple but also a super tasty "go me" reward for a long week of broken up sleepless nights.
When we were vacationing in Venice, I became a fanatic for an Italian cocktail called a Sgropinno, a lemon sorbetto cocktail with prosecco and vodka. So when I was at the grocery store the other day and laid eyes on this Ciao Bella Blood Orange Sorbetto, I thought it would be fun to make my own Sgropinno but trade the lemon sorbetto for blood orange and the vodka for gin because, well, I prefer gin. :)
I genuinely love this Ciao Bella Sorbetto. The flavors taste very naturally fruity. I could down a whole pint of this stuff in one Modern Family episode :)
This concoction turned out to be everything I had hoped for and more! It was so easy to make but incredibly refreshing with all the citrus notes and the effervescence from the prosecco. You guys should seriously make one (or two or three) for yourselves. And if blood-orange isn't your thing, use a sorbetto flavor that makes you happy! As always, I would love to hear what you think in the Comments Section below.
Blood Orange Sorbet Cocktail (recipe makes 1 cocktail)
Ingredients
1/2 oz gin (I used Berkshire Mountain Ethereal Gin for this cocktail and loved it!)
1/2 cup prosecco (I used Enza and thought it was an excellent dry prosecco for the price point!)
1 scoop of blood orange sorbet
Squeeze of lime plus extra for garnish
Instructions
Add gin and prosecco to glass. Add scoop of blood orange sorbet and finish it off with a squeeze of lime. Add a lime slice for garnish.
Told you it was easy!! Have a great weekend, everyone!
